On doing Soul Work

The benefits and the incentives for doing soul work are not going to give you an immediate payback.

It’s much more rewarding.

It’s much more fulfilling.

To be doing what you were made to do, it requires great knowledge of self.

It requires guts.

It requires great resiliency and strength of character.

Soul Work; it doesn’t leave you, ever. You sit with it. It sits with you, in the pit of you until you’re ready to make a move. It’s that hobby you have that you don’t know what the next step to is on. It’s that thing you’ve been passionate about but don’t know what move to make yet.

The internal is pushing you, from within. But the external has yet to obey the command. You are being disobedient to the soul, ignoring it, hoping it will somehow silence itself and go away voluntarily.

Your soul is a riot, wanting to be heard. Wanting to encompass more of your being, your character, and who you are. It wants to interrupt that ego of yours and show itself to be the truth behind who you are. But you are trying to shield it from being hurt. You are trying to protect yourself. You think anyway. But really, you are trying to protect your ego, your reputation, your status and all of the fake BS that comes with it.

Soul, forgive you because you know not what you do. You’re falling short of the glory. Very short of the glory and are voluntarily pulling yourself.

Trumpets will not sound when you finally start listening to your soul. The sun won’t shine any brighter.

But you will notice that you notice things a bit differently.

A bit more clear than usual.

Your heart will be filled.

But you will still have to do the work.

You may have found your calling, the thing that you desire, but you will still have to do the work.

There is no shortcut to this, even when it’s truth.

The fact that it’s something you love doing (joy), you’re good at (flow), and you get paid for it (money), it will be satisfying no doubt.

But you will still have to toil over it some nights.

You will still lose sleep over this thing you love.

You will still doubt yourself and even your reasons for pursuing it.

But understand, it’s a process and it will require your time, effort, and commitment over the long term.

You can’t overnight success your way to Soul Work.

This is a slow burn.

It’s what you were born to do.

What your soul was made to endure.
